Fast and Simple Linseed Bread

linseed bread 1

Again, a super fast and simple recipe for a healthy bread!

I am really starting to love my recently discovered bread making recipes 🙂 No need for a bread making machine; no need for a kitchen robot; no need to knead for hours; no need to wait…

You really don’t have to be a baking master to make any of these…:)

This one is also a great recipe for those trying to cut down on wheat consumption, without having to spend a fortune on expensive supermarket alternatives. All you have to do to make this bread a gluten free option is to replace the standard oats with gluten free oats and your good to go 🙂

So here it is, another minimalist recipe…No hassle and bustle here… No complicated ingredients, no complicated instructions…

Fast and Simple Linseed Bread.

Step 1: Make a Wet Part

  • 7 eggs
  • 1½ cup of milk (any diary or non diary milk or whey from cheese making)
Combine all ingredients using a whisk and put aside.

Step 2: Make a Dry Part

  • 3 cups of ground linseed
  • 1 cup of whole linseed
  • 1 cup of oats (can be gluten free)
  • ½ cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt

Combine all the ingredients in a separate bowl.

Step 3: Mix, Pour, Bake

Combine wet with dry using a spoon or a silicone spatula 🙂

Pour into two baking forms.

Bake in 180 Celsius for 35-45 minutes (that depends on your oven, check by sticking a thin skewer stick or something similar into the center of the bread and remove. If there are wet bits of bread mix sticking to the skewer then the bread is not ready. If it comes out dry the bread is ready)

Once baked, take the bread out, cover with a kitchen towel and leave on a wire rack to cool.

 To remember:

  • You can use any shape baking pan you have, as you can see on a photo I used normal bread loaf pan and a round one I had. It doesn’t really matter J
  • You can use baking paper or just oil the pan lightly by rubbing a dab of oil around and then sprinkle with flour.
  • You can make it gluten free by replacing normal oats with gluten free oats.
  • You can freeze one bread for later

Ways to exercise with your baby for less.

I thought I would share some tips on how to exercise with your baby as it took me some time to find my way around it 🙂

There are a lot of options there, and you might be surprised to hear that most of them are free.

Power Buggy Pushing, well don’t we all know it 🙂 Fancy name for what you all surely do with your baby anyway, just switch on the next gear and go a bit faster 🙂 If you want to do it with a friend just make sure the path you walk is wide enough for 2 prams. It also is a great time to interact with your baby as you walk.

Its for free; you can go anytime you want; for as long as you want; and you will surely rock your baby to sleep while doing it.

Baby In A Carrier Walking. Here it is, another fantastic way to exercise with your baby, and to be honest one of my favorite. This gives you a great flexibility about the destination. Walking along Muriwai Beach no problem, doing one of the short Bush Walks available around Auckland no problem, or just going to the shop no problem as well. Your baby is close to you and that is all they need to be happy. Make sure you wear a proper baby carrier so that your baby is positioned correctly, check here for more advice. As the babies weight is increasing your fitness will as well, walk faster and add a few squats in between if you feel like you can do more.

Its for free; you can go anytime you want; for as long as you want; and you will definitely rock your baby to sleep while doing it

Baby Workout on YouTube, there are hundreds of various workouts with babies available there. It took me some time to find the right ones at first, but it was well worth it. They are designed so that you interact with your baby while exercising or use your baby as a weight (baby carrier) which they really enjoy. My favorite was a 20 minute workout from JessicaSmithTV, it was short enough so when I was tired after a sleepless night I could still manage to do it and my baby would fall asleep during that 20 minute session which was great as well.

Its for free; you can do it anytime you want; its not too long;  and you will definitely rock your baby to sleep while doing it.

Baby Yoga, this can be either free (YouTube) or paid (ex.Mamaste). Take it lightly because yoga with your baby is a little bit different. You can’t focus on your body and mind only, but instead focus on both you and your baby. You might have to get in and out of each position earlier or interact with your baby as you are trying one of the balancing positions. Its a great way to finish a day, to remove all the tensions from your body and calm yours and your bub’s mind after an exciting day.

If its for free; you can do it anytime you want; it can be long or short; it can calm you and your baby down, a great routine before going to sleep

There is one other training I would like to mention. Even though its not free, I think its well worth it!

KangaTraining, I could talk about how amazing it is for hours. They really focus on postnatal recovery here, and its a cool mix of floor exercise, stretching, dancing and of course pelvic floor exercising- lasts 1:30, you are free to stop and breastfeed your baby at anytime before, during or after the session. Its awesome for both you and your baby. You get a chance to train in a relaxed, understanding and funny environment. You get to talk to other mums, exchange ideas and get some advice from those with older babies. Your baby gets to see other babies, interact with them and their mums. My little one loves exercising with me and is always smiling when we do it. It is also a given that once in a carrier he will fall asleep within minutes.

Kanga is about: training; dancing; squatting; laughing; sharing; understanding; strengthening; interacting; belonging; rebuilding; learning; observing and many more

So there it is, quite of a list 🙂 You are probably thinking how it is possible to fit all that into your week when you are tired  or busy or have heaps of cleaning or cooking to do? Well, it is possible, and you will feel amazing once you do it. Ask more in my comment section and I will be happy to help 🙂 Remember: Happy Mum Happy Child 🙂
